There are times in life when despite our best efforts, we are disappointed with the results, or when our efforts are underappreciated by those we are looking to serve or help. When this happens, we tend to become selective in our efforts basing our performance on the situation or the audience.
We often tend to see a half-filled glass as half empty rather than half full. When looking at a situation, the popular tendency is to think about the bad side rather than the good. However, if we stop to think about it, there are so many good things happening in our lives, and so many gifts that we should be thankful for.
Challenges are a part of life. Sometimes we let them get the better of us, and find ourselves succumbing to them. However, there is always hope to bring light into the dark spells that come our way. We just have to know where to look for it.
Once upon a time, there was a man who lived alone. He kept his money in a special jar so that no one could steal it. One day, while the man was out farming his land, a thief broke in. Looking for something to steal, he came across a heavy stone jar. He could barely jiggle it to hear the coins inside. He could not lift the jar. So the man stuck his hand in the jar to take out the money.
People the world over have tried to crack the code to long lasting and harmonious relationships. Yet, if we know where to look, harmonious relationships are not far from our reach. As social beings living in this world, we continually seek harmonious relationships with those around us – our family, our loved ones, friends, co-workers and neighbors.
How can we become ambassadors of peace in this world? What happens when we change our angle of vision? Can one person alone make a difference?
